The landscape project in this water theme park involved many areas but not the whole park. Many designs were applied mainly tropical design and Japanese design more commonly known in the landscaping community as Zen type of landscaping. Designing a large area with a lot of trees and other wild plants was quite challenging as we have to consider different natural features like terrain, topography, soil qualities, prevailing winds, and the system of native flora and fauna. There was a lot of soil cutting, soil filling and removal of excessive rocks involved before we designed some of the areas. For the tropical designed areas, we used different varieties of ferns, bromeliads, philodendrons, aglaonemas and ficuses as they are the most commonly used tropical plants for tropical gardens. We also used frog grass as ground cover and installed pavements and boulders as this will add to beauty of the garden. in the Zen themed areas, we did not plant bamboo type of grasses because the owner did not want a lot of dried leaves scattering inside the park so we only applied bonsai trees, topiaries and small plants like Lourdes and Durantas as skirting. We used different colors of size 3 pebbles to cover the ground and arranged them in waves and curves design together with frog grass to make it more beautiful to look at. Before the landscape was finished, a lot of park guests and visitors admired and took a lot of pictures so we had to put a net fence as not to ruin the unfinished project. The result was a stunning design that matched the natural environment of the park.
